MINISTER ÖZER BAKED PEACE BREAD WITH CHILDREN FROM 9 COUNTRIESMinister Özer got together with children during the 13th Peace Bread Festival organized by the Esenler Municipality on the occasion of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day.
Minister Özer attended the 13th Peace Bread Festival organized by the Esenler Municipality on the occasion of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day.
Minister Özer congratulated all children during his speech at the festival.
Expressing his happiness to be present at the festival which was dedicated to Peace during April 23 and also Ramadan, Özer said, "Ramadan is a month that we focus on the problems of other people and National Sovereignty and Children's Day is a message of peace, love, justice and brotherhood to whole world."
Özer said that all religions considered bread as sacred adding that, "Due to this reason, Esenler Municipality's message to the world by collecting children from different countries to bake bread has an important meaning. Our civilization focuses on disseminating peace and welfare to the world. People of this soil are the peace envoys."
"I wish that peace will prevail on earth"
Noting that Esenler Mayor Tevfik Göksu has been adamantly calling for peace for the last 13 years, Minister Özer said, "Beginnings are important but sustainability is more important. What our country needs most is to sustain good things. For the last 13 years, children got together in Esenler and gave the message of love, peace and welfare to the whole world."
Özer stated that Atatürk did not only give this day as a present to Turkish children but Also to the world's children.
"I wish that the Peace Bread Festival will give peace a chance during this time when we need peace most amidst wars and immigrations. I wish that peace will prevail on earth," he said.
Minister Özer mixed bread dough with children
İstanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya, Esenler Local Administrator Adil Karataş, Esenler Mayor Başkanı Mehmet Tevfik Göksu, guest children from KKTC, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Tajikistan, Romania, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Moldova and Iraq were present at the festival.

Slices of peace bread sent to Biden and Putin
Bread dough was baked in an oven and slices of peace bread were sent to UN General Secretary Antonio Guterres, Russian President Vladimir Putin and USA President Joe Biden.
