PUBLIC EDUCATION CENTERS AND TECHNICAL INSTITUTES PRODUCES TO BRING HOLIDAY JOY TO CHILDREN AFFECTED BY THE EARTHQUAKEMinister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that the holiday gifts produced by the public education centers and advanced technical institutes affiliated to the Directorate General of Lifelong Learning were delivered to 12 thousand children living in tents and container cities in the earthquake zone to experience the joy of Holiday.
Stating that the studies carried out in ten quake-hit provinces in the disaster area in order to reduce the effects of negative feelings after the earthquake and strengthen the psychological resilience of the students continue, Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer noted that the holidays gifts produced by public education centers and advanced technical institutes affiliated to the Directorate General of Lifelong Learning were delivered to 12 thousand children living in tents and container cities in the earthquake zone to experience the joy of Holiday.
Özer thanked all master teachers, trainees and everyone who contributed to the production of holiday clothes and gifts for children in the earthquake zone all over Türkiye.
205 thousand 773 citizens attend 14 thousand 965 courses established in the earthquake zone
Underlining that lifelong learning institutions are important centers for earthquake-affected citizens in the region, Özer said that in addition to the production made in dormitories for disaster-affected citizens, a total of 205 thousand 773 citizens attend the 14 thousand 965 courses that have opened in the earthquake region so far.
Noting that trainings on sewing, knitting, marbling, wood painting, goldsmithery and literacy were provided for adults in 93 Lifelong Learning Support and Coordination Centers established in solid and undamaged buildings, tent and container cities in the disaster area, Özer stressed that citizens both acquire new skills and try to heal their wounds by producing, helping and being together in particular. Özer said that trainees produce for themselves, their children, volunteers, soldiers and employees in the region and participate in social and cultural activities.
