THE PROJECT ON EDUCATION HAS STARTED TO BRING RESULTS: SCHOOLING RATE IN SECONDARY EDUCATION HAS INCREASED TO 95.97 PERCENTThe second evaluation meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer as part of "Reuniting with Education Project" which was organized with the aim of including students in the education system.
Provincial and district National Education Directors of Ağrı, Antalya, Batman, Bursa, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Mardin, Muş, Van and administrators of the Ministry has attended the second meeting of the "Reuniting with Education" project held at Gölbaşı Mogan Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Practice Hotel.
Sharing good news that the project, which started on January 4, began to bear its fruit in less than a week, Özer announced that the schooling rate in secondary education has risen to 95.97 percent.
Stating that false allegations have spread in the past months implying that 868 thousand girls have no access to education, Minister Özer noted that an intensive study was carried out by comparing the records of the Ministry of Interior with other records, and that the number turned out to be around 280 thousand.
Reminding that they held a meeting with all provincial national education directors on 16 December 2022, Özer stated that a study was conducted to determine whether these 280 thousand people were actually at their addresses or not. Özer said that they met with the provincial and district national education directors of Istanbul, Ankara, İzmir, Konya, Adana, Şanlıurfa, Gaziantep and Diyarbakır last week and the progress has been made as the schooling rates in secondary education have increased to 96 percent.
Noting that they aim to increase the schooling rate in secondary education to 99 percent by the end of March, Özer stated that they do not want to lose any students.
Expressing that they will continue to work to solve problems in the field so that all children can access education, Minister Özer emphasized that even reaching a single student gives great pleasure.
Provincial and district national education directors participating in the meeting also had the opportunity to convey the problems they have faced in the field.
Minister Özer added that they will continue to provide all kinds of support so that children can receive quality education.
