VOCATIONAL EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS PREPARE TO START THE SERIAL PRODUCTION OF 74 PATENTS, DESIGNS AND BRANDSVocational High Schools carry their place in the local and national production to a higher level. Establishment of intellectual and industrial property rights awareness in vocational and technical education institutions provided the opportunity to take projects to a new level after the registration of original products, projects and designs.
In 2021, vocational and technical education institutions in the entire country applied for the registration of 470 patents, useful models, designs and brands and in the first five months of 2022, number of applications increased by 3 times when compared to the same period of the last year.
Vocational and technical schools applied for the registration of 1,490 since the beginning of this year. Meanwhile, private companies purchased a total of 74 registered products of these schools. Within this framework, vocational education institutes are making preparations for the serial production of these registered local and national products for the buyer companies.
First registered product demanded by private companies was "Iron Pipe Bracket Fixture" produced by Erzincan Vocational Education Center.
Noting that his Ministry has been focusing on intellectual property rights projects in vocational and technical education, Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer went on to say that:
"We are happy to see that vocational education became the hope of Türkiye again as a result of new initiatives and campaigns. Investments made in vocational education resulted in contribution to our economy. It is important for us to commercialize registered production, make contributions to the economy of our country and improve the quality of vocational and technical education. 74 of 475 products of these schools are purchased by private companies. Income from the serial production of these products will be used for the improvement of vocational education institutes."
