The main topic of the meeting was a program including support to Palestinian schools in Jerusalem. "We consider helping Palestinian children in the field of education to the best of our capabilities as our duty," said Minister Selçuk adding that the Ministry has been contributing to the development of theveducation process in Palestine as a part of its existing projects."
Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk had an online meeting with Palestinian Minister of Education and Higher Education Marwan Awartani.
Noting that the Palestinian people always have a special place in the hearts of the Turkish people, Minister Selçuk said, "Since its beginning till today, the Palestine question has been among the elements that define our country's general foreign policy."
Selçuk stressed that the meeting that focused on support for Palestinian schools in Jerusalem that will pave the way for new cooperation projects between two the countries. Minister Selçuk expressed his sorrow due to the systematic pressure imposed by the Israeli government against Palestinian schools and students in Jerusalem adding that, "We consider helping Palestinian children in the field of education within the best of our capabilities as our duty and have been contributing to the development of education process in Palestine as a part of the existing projects. We can immediately share digital contents, teaching materials, sample tests and problems. Moreover, we can cooperate in the training of trainers in the short run."
Minister Selçuk stated that mutual cooperation concerning Arabic and Turkish lessons in both countries will be profitable for all sides and went on to say, "All departments of the Ministry gained important experience about the design and development of the distance education process. We are ready to share our experience with you. We can also cooperate about school health and security."
Selçuk posted a message about the meeting in his social media account and noted that, "We are boosting our cooperation with friend and brother Palestine in the field of education. We had an online meeting with my Palestinian counterpart Marwan Awartani. We are planning to organize working groups in an effort to support students."
