MINISTER OF NATIONAL EDUCATION MAHMUT ÖZER TOOK OVER THE POSITION FROM ZİYA SELÇUKMinister of National Education Mahmut Özer took over the position from outgoing Minister Ziya Selçuk. Making a speech during the handover ceremony, Minister Özer stated that his main goal is to provide equal opportunities for all children living all over the country for quality education.
Handing over his mission as the Minister of National Education to Mahmut Özer, Ziya Selçuk said during his speech at the handover ceremony that his duty which started on July 10, 2018 ended as of today.
Selçuk thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for giving him the opportunity to serve the children of the country and wished success to his colleague Özer whom he worked closely in many projects during his post as the Minister of National Education.
Selçuk also congratulated newly appointed deputy Ministers of National Education and said, "I will continue to serve the children of this country as a teacher. Our job is education and teaching. I will always be indefinitely loyal to the children of my beautiful country and all the goodness and labors invested for the future of these children."
"I assume a great responsibility, I took over a difficult mission"
Meanwhile, Özer thanked President Erdoğan who honored him with this duty and stated that he was aware that he assumed a great responsibility and took over a difficult mission.
Noting that the Covid-19 pandemic caused hardships in providing education in minimum level for the last 1.5 years both in the world and in Turkey, Özer went on to say that: "My advantage while taking over this difficult mission from Ziya Selçuk is my experience as his deputy minister for the last three years. I would like to express my gratitude to him for assigning me to this position. There are many important projects that started and successfully carried out during his term and we will continue to work on these projects. As an academician and the Minister of National Education, my main purpose is to provide equal opportunities for all children living all over the country for quality education."
