VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOLS PRODUCE TENTS IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE AFAD STANDARDS AND DISPATCH THEM TO THE DISASTER REGIONMinister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that vocational and technical secondary education institutions produced tents in compliance with the AFAD standards for the first time and dispatched them to the earthquake zone.
Vocational and technical secondary education institutions started the production of tents in compliance with the AFAD standards to meet the sheltering needs of citizens living in the disaster area. Making a statement on this matter, Minister Özer noted that vocational and technical secondary education institutions are mobilizing to meet the needs of earthquake victims with the products they have produced from portable heaters to stoves, from bread to tents during these difficult times in Türkiye.
Stating that the aforementioned schools stand by the citizens by producing the hygiene materials needed during the epidemic, Minister Özer said that they are mobilized for the earthquake victims during the disaster period. Stating that the schools, which produce sleeping bags, nutriment, blankets, stoves, beds and sanitary products for the citizens in the earthquake zone, broke new ground with the understanding of 'The State and The Nation are Hand in Hand', Özer stated that the schools set to work to meet the citizens need for shelter and produced tents in compliance with the AFAD standards.
Tents produced in compliance with the AFAD standards by Vocational and Technical Secondary Education Institutions in 7 provinces, is being dispatched to 11 Provinces
Vocational and technical secondary education institutions mobilizing for tent production in Istanbul, Bursa, İzmir, Konya, Antalya, Eskişehir and Kayseri started to send their tents, which they produced for the first time, to 11, which was declared as the State of Emergency (OHAL) zone. Stating that the first shipment was made on February 17, Minister Özer stated that the first tents produced by schools in Istanbul and Bursa were dispatched to the quake-hit provinces. Stating that the production and shipment of the tents will continue, Özer underlined that he is grateful to each member of the education family who set forth their knowledge, strength and effort for the brothers in the earthquake region in these difficult times of our nation.
